Big Blue Sign

from Unforgettable Music Journey by Dangerous Doug Harper

about

A song about returning from a gig up north while touring with the Marci Mitchell band. While passing the state welcome sign coming home that day I realized I always wanted to stay living in Missouri.

lyrics

Started out a lonely day. In a park miles away. Heading home from 10,000 lakes, remembering all of my mistakes. Sunday morning in the sun. Life feels like it just began.

Pocket full of cash, for playing for the bash. A big party in a hotel. Wine and dine with cocktails, tips in $20's not in ones.

Now I'm on my way back home. My ears feel like a thunder-dome. Music still playing in my mind, and now I must start to unwind.

Welcome to Missouri, I just passed the sign, about a million times, but this time I'm really awake.

Welcome to Missouri, I just passed the sign, about a million times, now the future I must make.
